Nightbloomers Meetings

Although the general meetings are on break until September, our Nightbloomers continue meeting through the summer.  Join us at the Cocoa Beach Library the first Wednesday evening at 6:30 every month.  It's informal and informative!

scholarship information

Scholarships available!
To qualify for the scholarships, the applicant must be a Florida resident, a citizen of the United States, and have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher. The Applicant must study agriculture, biology, botany, city planning, conservation, ecology, forestry, horticulture, landscape/architecture design, or related fields.

FFGC College Scholarships ($3,000) 

Available to seniors entering college and for all levels   of college coursework

Must attend a a Florida college/university

Course of study must meet garden club objectives

Several scholarships available; one per student

Completed application deadline is May 1

Exciting Garden Tour

Sign up now to join us for a day trip to the
Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens
in Delray Beach, FL

We are planning a group trip and taking reservations now.  We will leave the Cocoa Beach area at 8:30 a.m., and return around 6:00 p.m.  We looking to secure 40 people who want to go, so that we can take a tour bus.  If there are only 22 people, we will have two travel vans.  For only $45 you can reserve your seat.  Everyone is welcome!  Interested?  Contact Julia at n1990new@yahoo.com 

Botanical Fest

The event will be held at:
Florida Institute of Technology
150 West University Blvd.
Melbourne, FL 32901
The Fest is located on Crawford Green. Signs on both West University Boulevard and Country Club Road will point the way.
The annual event will showcase some of Florida’s finest plant and garden vendors, offering palms, exotics, native plants, ornamental shrubs, bamboo and flowering plants. Free guided tours of the Botanical Garden will take place throughout the day, and master gardeners will be on hand to answer gardening questions. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.

    IMPORTANT  The Feb 11 general meeting will be at the Fellowship Hall of the First United Methodist Church.  3300 N. Atlantic Ave, Cocoa Beach. The fellowship hall, and parking, are behind the church.  Please plan on joining us there at our regular time of 9:30 for the socializing, 10:00 for the business and speaker
Please bring a friend!  Buzz Petsos from Cape Canaveral will be our guest speaker.  He will present a program about Sea Oats.

President's Message

Happy New Year! We continue to experience lots of fun at our general meetings, and have heard from many very informative speakers. I hope you will come when you can, and bring a friend or two. I am always looking for gardening projects, educational opportunities, or conservation needs within our community that we can learn from and/or participate in together. Let’s put our heads together and do something beautiful in our community!

Send me your ideas and we’ll start planning—and doing. January 17th is Florida’s Arbor Day—make sure to spend a little extra time enjoying the natural beauty around us. And if you do a special project in recognition of the day, share it with us in our next newsletter.

Now is not too early to start planning to attend the FFGC Annual Convention in St. Petersburg (April 14- 16). I went to my first one last April and thoroughly enjoyed it. So much information (and lots of fun too)! I hope this New Year brings you much happiness and good health.
